Mucho apreciado. There are folks out there who are absolutely dedicated to single forms of writing–proposals or documentation or help menus, for example–and I wish them well. I just know that I’m not suited for those lines of work. At least not full time. I did proposal writing, but quickly branched out into other things. Bad habit, I guess. Thanks for reading!

Great advice and a great read–I like your writing style. You’re very matter-of-fact and relaxed (in a good way).
I love variety as well. I would never want to get stuck doing one thing. I suppose that’s why we are technical writers.

A nice list you have here! I totally agree with most of your points, it really annoys me! Some of these are what I have to watch out for myself especially It’s vs. Its or Affect vs. Effect! From a design standpoint, I cannot argue that Macs are incredibly powerful. For basic processing and office demands however I think the PC works just fine. Then again, this is coming from an eMachines user.

I think I mostly stay away from Macs because of, as you mentioned, the Cult. When I saw the lines waiting for the latest iPhone I thought, “For such smart people they are really silly. It’s a phone!”

I have been around your boss a few times when his Mac died a very inconvenient death……in the end I have found both PCs and Macs have their positives and negatives. Now Google OS and Chrome on the other hand………..
